Years ago, when I was at the age to play hockey, my family was not in a position to pay for the enrollment. Fortunately for me, establishments had in place a system where I could volunteer to work in order to be able to earn enough to pay for my hockey season.

As years went by this slowly went to the wayside. Companies were no longer in a position to offer this exchange and children like myself went without. Now as a father and a businessman, I realize the importance of having a sense of belonging while engaging in an active sport - such as hockey.

With the economy as it is today and families just unable to afford this activity or any kind of organized event, I decided to start a golf tournament for the sole purpose of giving the children the possibility to participate. Over the past two years, through sponsorship and donation, we have been able to provide these children with a way to be active and enjoy their youth.

Each year we see a growing support and have been able to give more children a way to become involved where they normally would not be able to - this is priceless. It is with our joint effort that this is possible.
